Çan2 Thermal Power Plant is owned by Çan2 Termik A.Ş., one of the subsidiaries of the ODAŞ Energy group and operates in the field of power generation using local lignite coal.
2013
With a view to steering towards local coal resources with high calorific value in order to employ the most favorable methods of power generation, our Group acquired 92% of Çan2 Termik A.Ş., the rightful owner of any royalties paid.
2014
We started the investment process for the power generation plant with an installed power of 340 MWm / 330 MWe.
2016
Çan2 Thermal Power Plant obtained the “Production License” from the Energy Market Regulatory Authority.
2018
The power plant, which was approved by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, started commercial operation on August 1, 2018.
2019
Çan2 Thermal Power Plant switched to stabilized power generation with the completion of the Ramp-Up process. “Environmental Permit and License Certificate” was obtained from the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization.
2020
ODAŞ increased its shares in Çan2 Termik A.Ş. to 100%.
The power plant achieved a total of 1,376 GWh in gross power generation with an average capacity utilization rate of 63.5% within the period of January 2020 to September 2020.
2021
Çan2 Termik A.Ş. has been listed on BIST Star since 30/04/2021.
